OVERVIEW
Graphics: The graphics created for Instagram and Facebook feeds are designed to be engaging clean and appealing to college students. They include details about the event, overview information about what is discussed in the caption, and spotlights both a volunteer and a runner. These graphics should be posted accordingly with the social media calendar content document. The same colors and fonts are used on each graphic and some of the elements are repeated to demonstrate brand unity. These graphics are meant to be shared on the Capital Area Chapter’s Instagram and Facebook pages, and with their clean and digestible design, we hope they will be reshared on volunteers’ pages to increase the number of runners for the event.

Press Release: The press release provides all essential information about the Hurricane Run to our target audience of college-aged students. It includes event details, registration logistics and background information. The press release should be published in both FSU and FAMU’s school newspapers in order to reach a large number of students. We intended for the press release to act as an introduction to the Capital Area Chapter of the American Red Cross and the Hurricane Run, and we have provided links for students to easily access more information regarding the local chapter and race.

Content Calendar: The social media content calendar uses Instagram as its primary platform. Because we are targeting an audience of students, they tend to use Instagram more than other social media sources. The graphics we created to go with the content will catch students' eyes and create a cohesive feed. The mix of content for the posts including race information and personal stories will keep followers interested. We still intend to use Facebook to connect students to more informational, external content about the event. These posts will include links to race registration, publications, and broadcasts. Younger audiences get most of their information from social media sources, so this content calendar will be an excellent way to engage students and encourage them to participate in the run.
Broadcast: The radio broadcast will be used to share information and details about the Hurricane 5k on local radio station platforms. The radio broadcast will discuss when the race is, where to sign up and details about the race itself. The broadcast will be played over the FSU and FAMU radio stations. These broadcasts should be played regularly a month out from the race in hopes to get more people in the community to sign up and participate in the 5k.
